We had a unique opportunity to view the solar eclipse, so Daddy and the boys build a "eclipse viewer" to look at the sun. Of course Mr.--or rather Dr.--Scientist would not pass up this teaching moment!
Beau checks out the eclipse
Eventually we had to move to the front yard to get a better view.
Thank you Daddy for teaching us (and the neighbors) about the solar eclipse!!
Perhaps it was the eclipse or just our hospitable wreath, but around that time we found that a mama birdie had built a nest in the wreath on our front door! A couple weeks later they hatched and we had 4 baby birdies living on our door. Even though we couldn't open our front door for weeks, it was fun to have the boys check on the eggs and babies each day.
It was all fun and games...and apparently good luck...until we came home from Hawaii to find our door and porch full of bird crap and our wreath ruined. And, lesson learned.
